Re: Ozymandias

Dr. HM Fenton is wrong to say Nicholas Bennett, Tony Floyd, and Peter Flegg could not change our views. As a first step Nicholas Bennett, Tony Floyd, and Peter Flegg (or Dr. Fenton) could provide proof of “HIV” isolation and the existence of the “HIV” infectious molecular clone. As well as proof of the specificity of the “HIV” antibody tests.

Dr. Fenton is also wrong in his assertion “dissenters are desperately trying to convince themselves that everything's okay”. To the contrary “dissenters” are convinced and are trying to convince everyone else that everything's not okay. OK?

Dr. Fenton asks “Why not leave them [the “dissenters”] be?” Even Dr. Fenton must be grateful for the lives of at least one or two scientific renegades. Including some from the pages of Medicine. With the aid of his retrospectoscope of course.

Since Dr. Fenton is a consultant paediatrician we wonder if he appreciates the implications of the time of disappearance of maternal antibodies? If so perhaps he can explain the data that the mercurial Nicholas Bennett obviously cannot. (See http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/eletters?lookup=by_date&days=3#101167).
